See, there's, there's so many beautiful versions and

What could any new artist add to that catalog?
And that's sort of one of the things that Howard did
In his life for the people around him is gave us all
The confidence to use our own authentic voices
To discover our authentic voices and he told me
He said like whatever you do
You're gonna do your version of the song

And when he passed I knew I had to do the song
And I found a new truth in it and to me
"Hallelujah" isn't a prayer it's a curse, it's
I do believe that there's a god and
I do believe that our loved ones are still with us
But I just, in this moment, do not feel at all like praying, ah

Vous voyez, il y a tellement de belles versions et
et j'ai l'impression que, vous savez,
qu'est-ce qu'un nouvel artiste pourrait ajouter à ce répertoire ?
Et c'est en quelque sorte une des choses que Howard a faites
dans sa vie pour les gens autour de lui : il nous a tous donné
la confiance nécessaire pour utiliser nos propres voix authentiques,
pour découvrir nos voix authentiques, et il m'a dit,
il a dit : quoi que tu fasses,
tu feras ta propre version de la chanson.

Et quand il est décédé, j'ai su que je devais faire la chanson.
Et j'y ai trouvé une nouvelle vérité, et pour moi,
"Hallelujah" n'est pas une prière, c'est une malédiction, c'est…
Je crois qu'il y a un dieu et
je crois que nos proches sont toujours avec nous,
mais là, tout de suite, je n'ai pas du tout envie de prier, ah.

Alors voici ma version de "Hallelujah".
