Al-Inshiqaq

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
إِذَا السَّمَاء انشَقَّتْ
وَأَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتْ
وَإِذَا الأَرْضُ مُدَّتْ
وَأَلْقَتْ مَا فِيهَا وَتَخَلَّتْ
وَأَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتْ
يَا أَيُّهَا الإِنسَانُ إِنَّكَ كَادِحٌ إِلَى رَبِّكَ كَدْحًا فَمُلاقِيهِ
فَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِيَ كِتَابَهُ بِيَمِينِهِ
فَسَوْفَ يُحَاسَبُ حِسَابًا يَسِيرًا
وَيَنقَلِبُ إِلَى أَهْلِهِ مَسْرُورًا
وَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِيَ كِتَابَهُ وَرَاء ظَهْرِهِ
فَسَوْفَ يَدْعُو ثُبُورًا
وَيَصْلَى سَعِيرًا
إِنَّهُ كَانَ فِي أَهْلِهِ مَسْرُورًا
إِنَّهُ ظَنَّ أَن لَّن يَحُورَ
بَلَى إِنَّ رَبَّهُ كَانَ بِهِ بَصِيرًا
فَلا أُقْسِمُ بِالشَّفَقِ
وَاللَّيْلِ وَمَا وَسَقَ
وَالْقَمَرِ إِذَا اتَّسَقَ
لَتَرْكَبُنَّ طَبَقًا عَن طَبَقٍ
فَمَا لَهُمْ لا يُؤْمِنُونَ
وَإِذَا قُرِئَ عَلَيْهِمُ الْقُرْآنُ لا يَسْجُدُونَ
بَلِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ يُكَذِّبُونَ
وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يُوعُونَ
فَبَشِّرْهُم بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ
إِلاَّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ الصَّالِحَاتِ لَهُمْ أَجْرٌ غَيْرُ مَمْنُونٍ

The Splitting Asunder

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sky is rent asunder,
And hearkens to its Lord, and is duty bound,
And when the earth is spread out,
And casts out all that is in it and becomes empty,
And hearkens to its Lord, and is duty-bound,
O man! Verily you are constantly striving towards your Lord with toil and in the end you will meet Him.
Then as for him who is given his record in his right hand,
He shall be judged with an easy reckoning,
And shall return to his people rejoicing.
But as for him who is given his record behind his back,
He shall cry: Oh, would that I had never received my record!
And I had never known my account!
Oh, would that it had been the end of me!
My wealth has not profited me.
My power has perished from me.
And it is said: Seize him and fetter him.
Then cast him into hell.
Then fasten him by a chain, the length of which is seventy cubits.
Surely he used not to believe in God, the Most Great,
Nor did he urge the feeding of the poor.
Therefore he has no friend here this Day,
Nor any food except filth, which none but the sinful shall eat.
Surely, We have revealed to you a reminder therefore let him who will, remember;
But they will not, unless God wills. He is deserving of awe and He is the Forgiver of sins.
Say: Verily, my Lord has guided me to a straight path, a right religion, the religion of Abraham the upright; and he was not of the polytheists.
