Sourate Al Qiyamah

Laa uqsimu biyawmi alqiyaamati
Walaa uqsimu bialnnafsi allawwaamati
Ayahsabu al-insaanu allan najma'a 'izhaamahu
Balaa qaadiriina 'alaa an nusawwiya banaanahu
Bal yuriidu al-insaanu liyafjura amaamahu
Yas-alu ayyaana yawmu alqiyaamati
Fa-idzaa bariqa albasharu
Wakhasafa alqamaru
Wajumi'a alsysyamsu waalqamaru
Yaquulu al-insaanu yawma-idzin ayna almafarru
Kallaa laa wazara
Ilaa rabbika yawma-idzin almustaqarru
Yunabbau al-insaanu yawma-idzin bimaa qaddama wa-akhkhara
Bali al-insaanu 'alaa nafsihi bashiiratun
Walaw alqaa ma'aadziirahu
Laa tuharrik bihi lisaanaka lita'jala bihi
Inna 'alaynaa jam'ahu waqur-aanahu
Fa-idzaa qara/naahu faittabi' qur-aanahu
Tsumma inna 'alaynaa bayaanahu
Kallaa bal tuhibbuuna al'aajilata
Watadzaruuna al-aakhirata
Wujuuhun yawma-idzin naadiratun
Ilaa rabbihaa naatsiratun
Wawujuuhun yawma-idzin baasiratun
Tazhunnu an yuf'ala bihaa faaqiratun
Kallaa idzaa balaghati alttaraaqiya
Waqiila man raaqin
Wazhanna annahu alfiraaqu
Wailtaffati alssaaqu bialssaaqi
Ilaa rabbika yawma-idzin almasaaqu
Falaa shaddaqa walaa shallaa 32. walaakin kadzdzaba watawallaa
Tsumma dzahaba ilaa ahlihi yatamaththaa
Awlaa laka fa-awlaa
Tsumma awlaa laka fa-awlaa 36.
Ayahsabu al-insaanu an yutraka sudaan
Alam yaku nuthfatan min manayyin yumnaa
Tsumma kaana 'alaqatan fakhalaqa fasawwaa
Faja'ala minhu alzzawjayni aldzdzakara waal-untsaa
Alaysa dzaalika biqaadirin 'alaa an yuhyiya almawtaa

The Day of Resurrection

I swear by the Day of Resurrection
And I swear by the self-reproaching soul
Does man think that We will not gather his bones?
Yes, We are Able to restore his very fingertips.
But man wishes to continue sinning before his Lord.
He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection?"
So, when the sight is dazzled,
And the moon is eclipsed,
And the sun and moon are joined,
Man will say on that Day, "Where is the place of escape?"
No! There is no refuge
That Day, the final destination is with your Lord.
On that Day, man will be informed of what he sent forth and what he left behind.
In fact, man is a witness against himself,
Even if he presents his excuses
Do not move your tongue concerning it [in haste] to recite it.
Upon Us is its collection and its recitation.
So when We recite it, then follow its recitation.
Then upon Us is its explanation.
Rather, you love the immediate
And you neglect the Hereafter.
Some faces, that Day, will be radiant
Looking at their Lord.
And some faces, that Day, will be dark,
Thinking that some disaster is about to befall them.
No! When it reaches the collarbone,
And it is said, "Who will relieve?"
And he will conclude that it is the parting,
And the leg will be entwined with the leg,
To your Lord, that Day, is the destination.
So he neither believed nor prayed,
But he denied and turned away 32. Then he went to his family, strutting
Woe to you, and destruction
Then woe to you, and destruction 36.
Does man think that he will be left neglected?
Was he not a drop of fluid ejected
Then he became a clinging clot, and [Allah] created and proportioned
And made of it two mates, the male and female?
Is not He able to give life to the dead?
