Ahkelak (I'll Tell You About Her)

What can I tell you about her, except that she's the one?
The one I loved, and my love for her is a secret living within me.
She didn't used to talk to, or trust anyone in the world but me.
She would tell me about new loves so easily, so casually.
And I would be dying inside, going crazy, but acting calm.
I've been tortured since the day I met her, and that's my daily state.

I live my days as if I'm alone, and I've truly suffered.
People blame me, saying life is passing by, why am I hiding it?
All my life I've feared this day, that it would come, and I'd be distant and forget her.

I tried to forget her with others, telling myself it was the past, it's over.
I miss her, I go hoping to see her, even if just briefly.
I go back and confess to myself, saying,
"No, let's just be friends."

What can I tell you about her, except that she's my life?
My life that I've lived and dream of, and I'm helpless against my feelings.
Days and nights, I haven't slept, not a single day of peace has visited me.

I back down and tell myself, if I say it, I'll surely lose her.
