Surat Al-Kahf, Chapter 18, Verse 75 - 98
۞قَالَ
أَلَمۡ
أَقُل
لَّكَ
إِنَّكَ
لَن
تَسۡتَطِيعَ
مَعِيَ
صَبۡرٗا
(75)
۞ He
said,
"Did
I
not
tell
you
that
you
would
never
be
able
to
have
patience
with
me?"
(75)
قَالَ
إِن
سَأَلۡتُكَ
عَن
شَيۡءِۢ
بَعۡدَهَا
فَلَا
تُصَٰحِبۡنِيۖ
قَدۡ
بَلَغۡتَ
مِن
لَّدُنِّي
عُذۡرٗا
(76)
He
said,
"If
I
ask
you
about
anything
after
this,
then
do
not
keep
company
with
me.
You
have
already
been
given
an
excuse
from
me."
(76)
فَأَقَامَهُۥۖ
قَالَ
لَوۡ
شِئۡتَ
لَتَّخَذۡتَ
عَلَيۡهِ
أَجۡرٗا
(77)
So
he
let
him
stay.
He
said,
"If
you
had
wished,
you
could
have
taken
a
payment
for
it."
(77)
قَالَ
هَٰذَا
فِرَاقُ
بَيۡنِي
وَبَيۡنِكَۚ
سَأُنَبِّئُكَ
بِتَأۡوِيلِ
مَا
لَمۡ
تَسۡتَطِع
عَّلَيۡهِ
صَبۡرًا
(78)
He
said,
"This
is
the
parting
between
me
and
you.
I
will
tell
you
the
interpretation
of
what
you
were
not
able
to
have
patience
for."
(78)
أَمَّا
ٱلسَّفِينَةُ
فَكَانَتۡ
لِمَسَٰكِينَ
يَعۡمَلُونَ
فِي
ٱلۡبَحۡرِ
فَأَرَدتُّ
أَنۡ
أَعِيبَهَا
"As
for
the
ship,
it
belonged
to
poor
people
working
at
sea,
so
I
wished
to
make
a
defect
in
it,
وَكَانَ
وَرَآءَهُم
مَّلِكٞ
يَأۡخُذُ
كُلَّ
سَفِينَةٍ
غَصۡبٗا
(79)
and
there
was
behind
them
a
king
who
was
seizing
every
ship
by
force."
(79)
وَأَمَّا
ٱلۡغُلَٰمُ
فَكَانَ
أَبَوَاهُ
مُؤۡمِنَيۡنِ
فَخَشِينَآ
أَن
يُرۡهِقَهُمَا
طُغۡيَٰنٗا
وَكُفۡرٗا
(80)
"And
as
for
the
boy,
his
parents
were
believers,
and
we
feared
that
he
would
overburden
them
by
transgression
and
disbelief.
فَأَرَدۡنَآ
أَن
يُبۡدِلَهُمَا
رَبُّهُمَا
خَيۡرٗا
مِّنۡهُ
زَكَوٰةٗ
وَأَقۡرَبَ
رُحۡمٗا
(81)
So
we
intended
that
their
Lord
should
substitute
for
them
one
better
than
him
in
purity
and
nearer
to
mercy."
(81)
ذَٰلِكَ
تَأۡوِيلُ
مَا
لَمۡ
تَسۡطِع
عَّلَيۡهِ
صَبۡرٗا
(82)
"That
is
the
interpretation
of
what
you
were
not
able
to
have
patience
for."
(82)
وَيَسَۡٔلُونَكَ
عَن
ذِي
ٱلۡقَرۡنَيۡنِۖ
قُلۡ
سَأَتۡلُواْ
عَلَيۡكُم
مِّنۡهُ
ذِكۡرًا
(83)
And
they
ask
you
about
Dhul-Qarnayn.
Say,
"I
will
recite
to
you
an
account
of
him."
(83)
إِنَّا
مَكَّنَّا
لَهُۥ
فِي
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
وَءَاتَيۡنَٰهُ
مِن
كُلِّ
شَيۡءٖ
سَبَبٗا
(84)
Indeed,
We
established
him
upon
the
earth
and
gave
him
to
everything
a
way.
(84)
فَأَتۡبَعَ
سَبَبًا
(85)
So
he
followed
a
way.
(85)
قُلۡنَا
يَٰذَا
ٱلۡقَرۡنَيۡنِ
إِمَّآ
أَن
تُعَذِّبَ
وَإِمَّآ
أَن
تَتَّخِذَ
فِيهِمۡ
حُسۡنٗا
(86)
We
said,
"O
Dhul-Qarnayn,
either
you
punish
[them]
or
else
adopt
among
them
[a
course
of]
goodness."
(86)
قَالَ
أَمَّا
مَن
ظَلَمَ
فَسَوۡفَ
نُعَذِّبُهُۥ
ثُمَّ
يُرَدُّ
إِلَىٰ
رَبِّهِۦ
فَيُعَذِّبُهُۥ
عَذَابٗا
نُّكۡرٗا
(87)
He
said,
"As
for
one
who
wrongs,
we
will
punish
him.
Then
he
will
be
returned
to
his
Lord,
and
He
will
punish
him
with
a
terrible
punishment."
(87)
وَأَمَّا
مَنۡ
ءَامَنَ
وَعَمِلَ
صَٰلِحٗا
فَلَهُۥ
جَزَآءً
ٱلۡحُسۡنَىٰۖ
وَسَنَقُولُ
لَهُۥ
مِنۡ
أَمۡرِنَا
يُسۡرٗا
(88)
"But
as
for
one
who
believes
and
does
righteousness,
he
will
have
a
reward
of
Paradise,
and
we
will
speak
to
him
of
Our
command
with
ease."
(88)
ثُمَّ
أَتۡبَعَ
سَبَبًا
(89)
Then
he
followed
a
way.
(89)
حَتَّىٰٓ
إِذَا
بَلَغَ
مَطۡلِعَ
ٱلشَّمۡسِ
وَجَدَهَا
تَطۡلُعُ
عَلَىٰ
قَوۡمٖ
لَّمۡ
نَجۡعَل
لَّهُم
مِّن
دُونِهَا
سِتۡرٗا
(90)
Until,
when
he
reached
the
setting
of
the
sun,
he
found
it
setting
into
a
spring
of
dark
mud,
and
he
found
near
it
a
people.
We
said,
"O
Dhul-Qarnayn,
either
you
punish
[them]
or
else
adopt
among
them
[a
course
of]
goodness."
(90)
كَذَٰلِكَۖ
وَقَدۡ
أَحَطۡنَا
بِمَا
لَدَيۡهِ
خُبۡرٗا
(91)
[So
it
was],
and
We
had
encompassed
[all]
that
was
with
him
in
knowledge.
(91)
ثُمَّ
أَتۡبَعَ
سَبَبًا
(92)
Then
he
followed
a
way.
(92)
حَتَّىٰٓ
إِذَا
بَلَغَ
بَيۡنَ
ٱلسَّدَّيۡنِ
وَجَدَ
مِن
دُونِهِمَا
قَوۡمٗا
لَّا
يَكَادُونَ
يَفۡقَهُونَ
قَوۡلٗا
(93)
Until,
when
he
came
between
the
two
mountains,
he
found
before
them
a
people
who
scarcely
understood
a
word.
(93)
فَهَلۡ
نَجۡعَلُ
لَكَ
خَرۡجًا
عَلَىٰٓ
أَن
تَجۡعَلَ
بَيۡنَنَا
وَبَيۡنَهُمۡ
سَدّٗا
(94)
They
said,
"O
Dhul-Qarnayn,
indeed
Gog
and
Magog
are
[great]
corrupters
in
the
land.
So
may
we
assign
to
you
an
expenditure
that
you
establish
between
us
and
them
a
barrier?"
(94)
قَالَ
مَا
مَكَّنِّي
فِيهِ
رَبِّي
خَيۡرٞ
فَأَعِينُونِي
بِقُوَّةٍ
أَجۡعَلۡ
بَيۡنَكُمۡ
وَبَيۡنَهُمۡ
رَدۡمًا
(95)
He
said,
"That
in
which
my
Lord
has
established
me
is
better
[than
what
you
offer],
but
assist
me
with
strength;
I
will
make
between
you
and
them
a
dam."
(95)
قَالَ
ءَاتُونِيٓ
أُفۡرِغۡ
عَلَيۡهِ
قِطۡرٗا
(96)
"Bring
me
blocks
of
iron."
Until,
when
he
had
filled
[the
space]
between
the
two
mountain
sides,
he
said,
"Blow
[with
bellows],"
until
when
he
had
made
it
[like]
fire,
he
said,
"Bring
me,
that
I
may
pour
over
it
molten
copper."
(96)
فَمَا
ٱسۡطَٰعُوٓاْ
أَن
يَظۡهَرُوهُ
وَمَا
ٱسۡتَطَٰعُواْ
لَهُۥ
نَقۡبٗا
(97)
So
Gog
and
Magog
were
unable
to
pass
over
it,
nor
were
they
able
[to
effect]
in
it
any
penetration.
(97)
قَالَ
هَٰذَا
رَحۡمَةٞ
مِّن
رَّبِّيۖ
فَإِذَا
جَآءَ
وَعۡدُ
رَبِّي
جَعَلَهُۥ
دَكَّآءَۖ
وَكَانَ
وَعۡدُ
رَبِّي
حَقّٗا
(98)
[Dhul-Qarnayn]
said,
"This
is
a
mercy
from
my
Lord;
but
when
the
promise
of
my
Lord
comes,
He
will
level
it
down,
and
ever
is
the
promise
of
my
Lord
true."
