Soliloquy

Always,
Beneath the facade of innocuous jokes,
The crux of the matter, I always
Conceal within a whispered melody.
Somehow,
Amidst the city's rapid pace,
I still stumble along, lacking grace.
Oblivious to the worn heels of my shoes,
In solitude, by the moonlit window, I muse:
'How tranquil.' My heartstrings stir,
I, who cannot walk the straight and narrow path,
My words forever straying.
I think of you, my love, my precious find,
Yet, in my mind, it's easier to confide.
Amidst the bustling crowds, where life's a race,
I seek refuge, hoping to find my place.
A perfect phrase, a flawless score,
Tomorrow, perhaps, I'll find it once more.
In the depths of my soul, the moonlight's gleam,
'Undoubtedly so,' I whisper, as I open the seam.
I yearn for honesty, but my words still stray,
Yet, my resolve remains, come what may.
I understand, I truly do,
My soliloquies can't forever renew.
Through the bittersweet caress of the night's embrace,
I continue my relentless chase.
For you alone, my beacon in the dark,
