O Salutaris Hostia

O SALUTARIS Hostia
Quae caeli pandis ostium.
Bella premunt hostilia;
Da robur, fer auxilium.

Uni trinoque Domino
Sit sempiterna gloria:
Qui vitam sine termino,
Nobis donet in patria.

Tantum Ergo

Tantum ergo Sacramentum
Veneremur cernui:
Et antiquum documentum
Novo cedat ritui:
Praestet fides supplementum
Sensuum defectui.

Genitori, Genitoque
Laus et iubilatio,
Salus, honor, virtus quoque
Sit et benedictio:
Procedenti ab utroque
Compar sit laudatio.

O Most Healthful Host
Which openest the gate of heaven.
Hostile wars press on;
Give strength, bring help.

To the One and Triune God
Be eternal glory:
Who gives life without end,
May He give it to us in the heavenly country.

Tantum Ergo

Therefore we worship this great Sacrament
Devoutly bowing down:
And the old document
Yields to the new rite:
Let faith give help
For lack of senses.

To the Father, and to the Son begotten
Praise and jubilation,
Health, honor, and power, too
Let there be and blessing:
To him who proceeds from both
Be equal praise.
