How long have I been walking?
My path through the darkness is long and shadowed
I must hurry, before the sand runs out

I am swallowed up before I can forgive myself
Lamenting my sins, I find the strength to walk
I close my eyes and imagine tomorrow
By the water of a small, nameless dream, turning into poetry
If we become stronger by what we lose
In the dark wilderness of wandering, I will find light
Listen, my love. I can see nothing now,
But the night will end
Worn-out feelings transform into poetry
I close my eyes and imagine tomorrow.
A small, nameless dream, never to be lost again.
May I someday hold in my empty hands
A precious dream too great to bear, a poem,
If we become stronger by what we lose
The small light that shone into the dark wilderness of wandering
Becomes the strength to walk
