<EPISODE OF VERDE - PART1>
<EPISODE OF VERDE - PART1>
After the city sank, and many years passed──
The earth rose up, and the ruined city reappeared on the surface.
Eventually, people settled there, and the city regained its vibrancy.
The new city's people found corroded human sculptures on the seabed,
and believed them to be statues of the land's god.
As the number of people who worshipped the statues increased, a faith with the statues as gods was born.
Someone who claimed to hear guiding voices from the statues became a cult leader,
and his organization ruled the city──
A single girl lived in the city――she lived happily with her parents.
One day, the girl was captivated by a statue she found on the outskirts of the city.
A statue of a smiling boy, harboring longing and melancholy.
As she peered into the statue's eyes, vague images began to flash through the girl's mind.
They were the past memories and emotions dwelling within the statue――
Within that torrent, the girl realized she was the reincarnation of this boy.
A sudden urge to draw came over her, and the girl hurried home.
The city's law forbade drawing pictures of the statues.
The girl drew pictures of the statue in secret, hiding them from her parents.
One day, her parents found the pictures she had hidden.
Her parents reported her, and the girl was accused of a crime.
The girl asked the priest, "Why is it forbidden to draw pictures of the statues?"
The priest replied, "Because it is the law."
Anger, doubt, passion――no one acknowledged the girl's feelings.
Not even her parents.
The girl was banished from the city and driven into the forest that stretched beyond its borders.
