Y así puedo oír imágenes, ver voces
Sentir los roces del recuerdo, verme cuerdo cada noche que despierte

Y así tragarme a la vida y escupir a la muerte
Y es evidente que puedo ser ese vidente
Que predice futuros inciertos
Ese visionario que desaparece y que parece que ha muerto

Pero vuelve por sorpresa
Y armoniza el caos y pone su recaos sobre la mesa
Y cuenta sus pecaos y se confiesa
Soy la presa inalcanzable que se salva en la selva

Y silba para avisar del peligro
Soy el mago sin chistera
El cantautor que no canta
El escritor que jamás escribió un libro

Pero sobre un papel me creo Dios de vez en cuando

Que es el valium para nuestro ansioso movimiento
El jabón para un espíritu mugriento
Aquel que piensa que la poesía es el reencuentro
Con lo que llevamos dentro

¿Acaso hay algo que consiga el mismo efecto?
Solo yo, mi voz, mis afectos, mis defectos y mi intelecto
Con ellos puedo traer manantiales al desierto
Sobrevolar cordilleras, ser quien yo quiera
Ser lo que yo quiera

Puedo convertir areniscas en diamantes
Transformar partículas microscópicas en colosos y gigantes
Andar sobre las aguas más errantes
No quiero fans, no busco discípulos ni militantes

Cuando hago poesía, cuando hago poesía
Busco amantes
No hay nada más emocionante

With what we carry inside

Is there anything that achieves the same effect?
Only me, my voice, my affections, my defects and my intellect

To be whatever I want

I can turn sands into diamonds
Transform microscopic particles into giants
Walk on the most erratic waters
I don't want fans, I'm not looking for disciples or militants

When I do poetry, when I do poetry
I look for lovers

I don't want fame or tributes or diamonds
When I do poetry I find my after, my before
There is nothing more important in these hectic times

And I do it with reverence, with nocturnality and treachery
