It was like a town in Florida in the fifties you know
I don't know there's a lot of white buildings
They were really white I could see them
They were about seven or eight stories tall
All the people were walking around
And it just looks so good you know
They all had uh blue dresses and nice pants on
You know they're all of them are drinking pop
From you know with straws in the bottles
Things were lookin' you know sun was shining so bright
The downtown looked incredible I couldn't believe it
There was gliders flyin' around in the sky
These guys flying around in gliders you know
And they'd swoop between the buildings
And they they'd go down the alley ways you know
And they make a sharp left and a sharp right
And uh it's like they I couldn't believe
That it was really happening you know

So I said you know I don't believe this this isn't real
And just as I said that this guy in the glider
Was coming right through the center of town
And he ran into the building in the middle of town
Fifteen story high building right in the center of town
He started tumbling through the air you know
And his glider crashed in the alley and uh
I noticed this couple on the uh on the parking lot
And uh they they were just walking together in conversation you know
Like nothing else was happening and uh looking up
They noticed a tumbling man coming through the air
And uh he he came right down and landed right on them
And made and awful sound and uh
I ran over there I could see that they were really gone you know
But on the ground beside them was this little baby dressed in
It just had a red blanket wrapped around it
So I picked it up and took it to my car over on the corner which wasn't too far away
And I put it in the back seat
I don't know whether it was a boy or a girl
I didn't look I just put it down
It was sleeping and I looked and a crowd had gathered
On the parking lot this beautiful lady was coming
Down the street and I looked at her
And she looked right at me and she said
That's my baby in the back of your car there
I said oh no that baby belongs to that to that dead couple on the parking lot
And she said no no you're wrong you're wrong

Es war wie eine Stadt in Florida in den Fünfzigern, weißt du
Ich weiß nicht, da waren viele weiße Gebäude
Sie waren wirklich weiß, ich konnte sie sehen
Sie waren ungefähr sieben oder acht Stockwerke hoch
Alle Leute liefen herum
Und es sah einfach so gut aus, weißt du
Sie hatten alle, äh, blaue Kleider und schicke Hosen an
Weißt du, sie tranken alle Limonade
Aus, weißt du, mit Strohhalmen in den Flaschen
Alles sah gut aus, weißt du, die Sonne schien so hell
Die Innenstadt sah unglaublich aus, ich konnte es nicht glauben
Da flogen Segelflugzeuge am Himmel herum
Diese Typen flogen da in Segelflugzeugen rum, weißt du
Und sie schossen zwischen den Gebäuden hindurch
Und sie, sie flogen die Gassen runter, weißt du
Und sie machten eine scharfe Links- und eine scharfe Rechtskurve
Und äh, es war, als ob sie... ich konnte nicht glauben
Dass das wirklich passierte, weißt du

Also sagte ich, weißt du, ich glaube das nicht, das ist nicht real
Und gerade als ich das sagte, dieser Typ im Segelflugzeug
Kam genau durch die Stadtmitte geflogen
Und er flog gegen das Gebäude mitten in der Stadt
Ein fünfzehn Stockwerke hohes Gebäude, genau im Stadtzentrum
Er fing an, durch die Luft zu trudeln, weißt du
Und sein Segelflugzeug stürzte in der Gasse ab und äh
Ich bemerkte dieses Paar auf dem, äh, auf dem Parkplatz
Und äh, sie, sie gingen einfach zusammen, ins Gespräch vertieft, weißt du
Als ob nichts anderes geschehen würde, und äh, als sie aufblickten
Bemerkten sie einen trudelnden Mann, der durch die Luft kam
Und äh, er, er kam direkt runter und landete genau auf ihnen
Und machte ein schreckliches Geräusch und äh
Ich rannte hinüber, ich konnte sehen, dass sie wirklich tot waren, weißt du
Aber auf dem Boden neben ihnen lag dieses kleine Baby, gekleidet in
Es hatte nur eine rote Decke um sich gewickelt
Also hob ich es auf und brachte es zu meinem Auto drüben an der Ecke, das nicht allzu weit weg war
Und ich legte es auf den Rücksitz
Ich weiß nicht, ob es ein Junge oder ein Mädchen war
Ich schaute nicht nach, ich legte es einfach hin
Es schlief und ich schaute auf und eine Menschenmenge hatte sich versammelt
Auf dem Parkplatz. Diese wunderschöne Dame kam die Straße herunter
Und ich sah sie an
Und sie sah mich direkt an und sagte
Das ist mein Baby da hinten in deinem Auto
Ich sagte oh nein das Baby gehört zu dem zu dem toten Paar auf dem Parkplatz
Und sie sagte nein nein du liegst falsch du liegst falsch
Was ist mit ihnen passiert
