Das 5. Gebot

Ihr habt gehört, dass zu den Alten gesagt ist,
Du sollst nicht töten!
- Wer aber tötet der soll des Gerichts schuldig sein
Ist dir bewusst, dass man nicht töten soll?
Wusstest du schon, dass man nicht töten soll?
Weder mit Hand, Herzen, Mund, Zeichen
Gebärden noch Hilfe und Rat?
Wusstest du′s?
Darum ist es, jederman verboten zu zürnen
Gott weiss sehr wohl, wie die Welt böse ist
Und dies Leben viel Unglück hat
Darum hat er diese und andere Gebote
Zwischen Gut und Böse gestellt
Denn wo Totschlag verboten ist,
Da ist auch alle Ursache verboten,
Daher Totschlag entspringen mag
Zum Beispiel:
Wenn dein Nachbar sieht,
Dass du besser Haus und Hof,
Mehr Gutes und Glückes von Gott hast denn er,
So verdriesst es ihn, neidet dich
Und redet, und redet, und redet nichts Gutes von dir
Also kriegst du viel Feinde furch des Teufels Anreizung,
Die dir kein Gutes,
Weder leiblich noch geistlich, gönnen; und wünscht seinem Nachbarn
Gegebenenfalls, die Pest an den Hals
Da komm nun gott zuvor wie ein freundlicher Vater
Denn gar mancher, ob er nicht tötet, so flucht er doch
Darum nennt auch Gott all diejenigen Mörder,
So in Nöten und Gefahr nicht raten noch helfen
Denn du hast ihm die Liebe entzogen
Und die Wohltat beraubt
Dadurch er bei dem Leben geblieben wär
Also siehst du jemand zum Tode verurteilt
Und rettest nicht, ... so hast du ihn getötet
Und ist ebenso viel, als ob ich jemand sähe
In ein Feuer gefallen und könnte ihm die Hand reichen
Herausreissen und retten, und täte es doch nicht
Wie würde ich anders auch vor aller Welt bestehen
Denn ein Mörder und Bösewicht?
Darum ist die endliche Meinung Gottes,
Dass wir keinem Menschen leid widerfahren lassen
Sondern alles Gute und Liebe beweisen
Da haben wir nun Gottes lebendiges Wort
Zu rechten, edlen, hohen Werken,
Als Sanftmut, Geduld und Summa
Liebe und Wohltat gegen unsere Feinde
Und will uns immerdar erinnern
Dass wir zurückdenken des ersten Gebotes
Dass er unser Gott sei, das er uns helfen
Beistehen und schützen wolle,
Auf dass er die Lust, uns zu rächen, DÄMPFE

The 5th Commandment

You have heard that it was said to them of old time,
Thou shalt not kill;
- But I say unto you, that whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment;
Do you know that you should not kill?
Did you know that you should not kill?
Neither with hand, heart, mouth, sign,
Gestures, nor help, nor advice?

That we do not harm anyone

As meekness, patience and Summa
Love and charity toward our enemies

That we think back to the first commandment
