Overlooking a big city

Die Tür

Ich bin das Gegenteil von allem,
woran du glauben möchtest,
denn ich glaube nicht einmal an mich selbst.

und ich hasse es und kann es nicht mehr ertragen.

das Gras zupft,
weil die anderen Teams größer sind und mir in den Arsch treten,
und so nimmt mich der Trainer raus, setzt mich hin und lacht,
und er sagt, Junge, du hättest bei der Band bleiben sollen.

Und ich bin ein Boot auf dem Ozean, und die Wellen werden groß,
und alle meine Knoten lösen sich und der Rumpf gibt nach,
und da ist ein Monster im Wasser, das mich angrinst,
und sagt, Mann, du hättest an Land bleiben sollen.

Nun, ich konnte mir dieses Leben nicht aussuchen,
aber Gott sei Dank tat ich es nicht,
denn wenn ich es getan hätte, wäre ich irgendein Arschloch
mit einer Aussicht.

Über eine große Stadt blickend,
mit niemandem sonst bei mir,
nur etwas Geld und eine Flasche Alkohol.

Also habe ich wenigstens meine Leute, mit denen ich trinken kann,
und sie mögen mich meistens, denke ich gerne,
und wir trinken und prosten und stoßen an
auf einander und auf Geister
der Menschen, die nicht mehr bei uns sind.

Und da ist ein Loch im Boden am Ende von allem,
und manchmal könnte ich schwören, ich höre es atmen,
aber manchmal denke ich, dass es einen Platz für dich und mich gibt,
