Mi historia comenzó en los 50's
Haya donde la tierra es caliente
Orgulloso de ser michoacano
De un ranchito cerca de Tepeque
Humilde la cuna donde me toco nacer
Y desde muy chico a trabajar me enseñe
Les dije a mis padres muy pronto yo voy a volver
Y a buscar billetes pa'l otro lado cruce...

Las cosas solas se fueron dando
Me hice de amistades y de socios
Me gane el apodo "La Pochota"
Porque desde chico era canoso
Fue en una cocina donde empecé a trabajar
Y no se confundan no era en ningún restaurant
Al poco a poquito mi suerte empezó a cambiar
Y a mi mano el peso que tanto anhele empuñar...

Pero las envidias siempre se dan a notar
Y en un atentado me quisieron madrugar
Fueron 4 balas a mi cuerpo atravesar
Doy gracias al cielo que ahora la puedo contar...

Siempre con la tejana bien puesta
Me vieron pasar de arriba abajo
Bonitas las calles de la U.S.A
Pero no hay nada como mi rancho
Todo lo que empieza también tiene su final
Calenté el terreno me empezaron a buscar
Dije compermiso yo me paso a retirar
Un vuelo sencillo y sin regreso a Michoacán...

La vida te deja cicatrices
Y hay heridas que nunca se sanan
El tiempo me ayudo a asimilarlo
Pero por dentro aun llora mi alma
Extraño a mi padre que hace años nos dejo
Como me hacen falta los concejos del señor
Humildad y honestidad siempre nos inculcó
Por sus enseñanzas ahora soy lo que soy...

Paso a retirarme les conté algo de mi vida
Hoy vivo tranquilo alejado de las envidias
Estas canas blancas son experiencias vividas
Saludos a mis hijos y al resto de la familia...

The Pochota

My story began in the 50's, darling,
Down where the earth is hot and yearning.
Proud to be from Michoacán, my sweet,
From a small ranch near Tepeque, where our hearts meet.
Humble the cradle where I was born, you see,
And from a young age, I learned to work, just for thee.
I told my parents, "I'll be back soon, don't you fret,"
And to seek fortune, to the other side I set.

Things started happening, little by little, my dear,
I made friends and partners, never any fear.
I earned the nickname "La Pochota", my love,
Because since I was a boy, my hair was like a dove.
It was in a kitchen where I began to toil,
And don't be mistaken, it wasn't any fancy spoil.
Little by little, my luck began to mend,
And in my hand, the wealth I yearned to spend.

But envy, my dear, always makes itself known,
And in an attack, they tried to cut me down.
Four bullets pierced my body, it's true,
I thank heaven above that I'm here telling this to you.

Always with my Texan hat firmly in place,
They saw me go up and down, all over the place.
Beautiful the streets of the U.S.A., my dove,
But there's nothing like my ranch, my true love.
Everything that begins also has its end,
I made my mark, and they started to contend.
I said, "Excuse me, I'm going to retire now, you see,"
A one-way flight, no return, back to Michoacán, just for me.

Life leaves you scars, my sweet,
And there are wounds that never fully heal.
Time has helped me to accept it all,
But inside, my soul still cries and starts to fall.
I miss my father, who left us years ago,
How I miss the advice of the old fellow.
Humility and honesty, he always instilled,
Because of his teachings, I am what I willed.

I'll take my leave now, I've shared a bit of my life's story,
Today I live peacefully, far from envy's gory.
These white hairs are lived experiences, you see,
