In the Darkness

366th day of Groundhog Day, a tight loop of my little world
The past throws a rough lasso around my neck
The memory of the Stalinist skyscraper in the center of Warsaw
Looms as an alien anachronism
It has been there for so long, it's recognized as a city symbol
Like a kilometer and a half of the Berlin Wall
Left by our ancestors for tourists

I sit by the window, I've washed the dishes
