El amor que me juro ya con la aucensia no existe, hoy talvez lo tome a chiste no creyendo en mi regreso, sin embargo me dio un beso

No se por que me atropella el recuerdo de mi amada, no se si estara casada o que rumbo habra tomado la que fue ya en el pasado mi jibarita mimada.

My Beloved Mountain Girl

I suffered mercilessly when I left my homeland
The country where our insolent mountain folk are raised
I shall return smiling, to have her hands caress me
To watch the calves frolic on the mountainside,
For yesterday I left my Puerto Rico to follow a skirt.
As the steamship cast off from pier number four, the woman I idolize passed before my eyes
I wept in silence, nearly losing my composure, and standing tall as a palm
I went to the stern, hastening towards another drink, with a heavy heart.
When the ship hooted, facing the mouth of the harbor, she bid me farewell with a handkerchief that she raised high.
The love she swore to me no longer exists with her absence, perhaps today she mockingly disbelieves my return, yet she gave me a kiss
And remained alone and sad.
How I suffer for her, I would like to see her and kiss her and embrace her with longing, as I did that night.
I know not why the memory of my beloved overwhelms me, I know not if she is married or what course my mountain girl of the past has taken.
