They said there would be winners and losers at the end of these games, my love
They laughed at the lines we wrote, they said it was easy
Humanity, for years decapitating, drinking blood, never satisfied
They said, let the Azan be recited, Allahu-Akbar
Those who live in their own works never die, geniuses wrote
They called the places where we were forgotten "Honorary Alley"
Shores that leave sail-less ships ownerless
They said, let the drowning man die, the ignorant
In humanity, where a woman's cry is thrown to the heavens
They said, this is the law, commanded by the Quran
When asked, "Why did you make people unhappy?"
They said, we have neither honor nor conscience
The pain and suffering of those sleeping on the streets is invisible
They said, a fountain is poured in place of the demolished shack
They said, martyrs don't die, as if the homeland is indivisible
They called for champagne in honor of the sold lands
