Er möcht die Flügel spreitzen und möcht aufsteig'n.
Ihm ist der dumme Käfig längst schon viel zu klein, längst schon viel zu klein.

Papagei sprich ihnen nach - wirst sehn dein Leb'n wird besser sei.
Komm plapper nach den Schwachsinn und sie werd'n sie g'frein.
Du kriegst an größer'n Käfig und wirst freier sein.
I fühl mi oft genauso wie der Papagei, genauso wenig frei.

Parrot

A Parrot sits in his Cage and nobody comes and lets it go.

Only he is terribly obstinate and doesn't open his beak.
