Am Grund des Meeres trieben wir

Und ruhten dann vertäut am Abendstern!

The Amen day, heavy as the sun
The sail melted, as if redeemed
And fell in droplets into the dinghy!
Only a blue shadow glided up
Engulfing the masts like a mouth
No longer singing, consumed by memory!
We drifted on the seabed
Bathed by the tide in a dream robe
And then rested, moored to the evening star!
