I sat there in the gloom, thought about my lousy luck;
At least if your body's offensive then your clothes cover it up
But my forehead is quite smooth
Except for one circular groove
And that's the eye in the middle of my head.

Mes parents devaient me détester. Ils m'ont abandonné.
Ils m'ont mis dans un panier qui a été laissé dans une église.
Il a été trouvé par une religieuse.
Qui a jeté un coup d'œil et a couru.
En criant "Il y a un œil au milieu de sa tête !".
Le responsable a réfléchi et m'a dit :
"Tous les hommes sont égaux. Tu peux gagner ton pain quotidien ;
Va maintenant au clocher
Où les chauves-souris sont aveugles et ne peuvent pas voir.
Il y a un œil au milieu de ta tête."
Je suis resté assis dans l'obscurité, j'ai pensé à ma malchance ;
Au moins si ton corps est offensant, tes vêtements le cachent.
Mais mon front est assez lisse.
Sauf pour un sillon circulaire.
Et c'est l'œil au milieu de ma tête.
