Mä kerron nyt tarinan ihmisluonteesta

The Frog and the Scorpion

Let me tell you a story about human nature,
About how I live, pushing forward tomorrow.
And to make sure the points hit home,
I'll use animal characters to make it clear.
The old tale goes like this:
There was a flood rising in the desert,
It had risen to the edge of a rock,
And two animals were hopelessly trapped,
On that rock, inches apart.
Even in dry weather,
The frog would have been eaten long ago,
But the scorpion is on thin ice in the water,
And it easily changes its behavior,
When it happens that there are few options available,
And time is quickly running out on the digital clock.
And I don't see anything wrong with that,
Instincts dictate us,
And it's damn obvious,
That one doesn't readily give up their life.
The frog just stands there, stiff with fear,
Until it realizes it has an ace up its sleeve,
Ribbit ribbit, it can swim,
With its belly on the rock, just showing off its breaststroke.
The scorpion yells, "Hey, don't be afraid!"
I'll drown here if you don't take me on your back.
There's always a risk in helping the wicked,
But I swear by my mother's eggs and through my father's belly,
The frog replies, "It doesn't seem right,
I don't want a sting in my neck or belly."
But the scorpion mentions its eight children,
And tells the frog a couple of strong facts,
If I sting, I drown myself at the same time,
I may be a predator, but not in a stupid way.
And besides, you can benefit from me,
And my protection, I promise on my word of honor.
The frog thinks about it and yields to good,
Conscience has sunk so deep,
And I guess we still believe deep down,
That kindness can make the bad kind.
The scorpion will always remain indebted,
But the ungrateful don't have good credit,
And the frog knows that,
But if it didn't help, it couldn't stand itself.
I'm the same kind of reputation fixer,
A scorpion during the rainy season,
I'm not bad at all, and certainly not intentionally,
A heavy burden as your nuisance,
But no one is evil on purpose, right?
Or an eye-sawing, side-eyeing devil.
And that's damn raw,
But each of us is an animal and you can't carve that away,
But I try to be careful not to be a complete beast,
But sometimes a careless act slips out,
Beware of me, are you blind?
The finale of this story is like a scene from my life,
In the middle of the water, the frog's butt hurts,
The beast doesn't keep its word,
The frog asks, "Why did you do that now you'll die?"
And the scorpion replies, "It's just my nature!"
