Se había acumulado mucho daño,

A lot of damage had accumulated,
A lot of poverty, many injustices;
They couldn't take it anymore and the words
Had to ask for what they deserved.

In late 1907
The strike was brewing in San Lorenzo
And at the same time everyone was listening
A cry that was flying through the desert.

From one office to another, like gusts of wind,
The protests of the workers could be heard.
From one office to another, the Lords,
Their faces indifferent or contemptuous.

What could the rebellion matter to them
Of the dispossessed, of the pariahs.
They'll soon come back repentant,
Hunger will bring them, heads bowed.

What to do then, what, if nobody listens?
Brother to brother they asked.
It's fair what's being asked for and it's so little
Will we have to lose hope?

Thus, with love and suffering
Wills were united,
In one place they would understand,
They had to go down to the big port.
