ای که پهلو زده بر قرص قمر چشمانت
آدمی محو تماشای لب خندانت
من نگویم سخنی جز سخن از خنده ی تو
چه شود سر بگذارم به روی دامانت
نکند روزی نگویی سخنی از حالت
دلخوشم من به همین چند خبر از احوالت
همه ترسم شده چشمان گنهکار رغیب
نکند زلف تو بیرون برود از شالت
وای از چشم جادوگر تو
کاش من بنشینم برتو
ای جان که تو تاج سرمی

Prayer

O thou who sleepest in the bosom of the moon, whose eyes
Are the gaze of mankind lost in the smile of thy lips,
I shall say naught but thy laughter's praise;
Should I give my head to rest on thy knees,
Lest thou shouldst one day say naught of my fate,
I am happy in the little news of thee.
All my fear is for thy rival's sinful gaze,
Lest the tresses of thy hair escape from the veil.
Alas for thy bewitching eyes,
Would that I might sit upon thee.
O soul, thou art my crown!
