My lady, the lingam worshipped by Brahma and Murari
The lingam that shines resplendent with radiant speech,
The lingam that destroys the sorrows of birth,
To you, I bow, oh Sadashiva Lingam.
The lingam worshipped by the foremost of gods and sages,
The lingam that burns away lust and is the ocean of compassion,
The lingam that destroyed the pride of Ravana,
To you, I bow, oh Sadashiva Lingam.
The lingam anointed with all sweet scents,
The lingam that causes the expansion of intellect,
The lingam worshipped by the perfected beings, celestials and demons,
To you, I bow, oh Sadashiva Lingam.
The lingam adorned with gold and great jewels,
The lingam surrounded by the king of serpents and radiant,
The lingam that destroyed the great sacrifice of Daksha,
To you, I bow, oh Sadashiva Lingam.
The lingam smeared with saffron and sandalwood,
The lingam beautifully adorned with a garland of lotuses,
The lingam that destroys accumulated sins,
To you, I bow, oh Sadashiva Lingam.
The lingam worshipped and served by the hosts of gods,
With love, devotion and faith,
The lingam whose brilliance surpasses a crore of suns,
To you, I bow, oh Sadashiva Lingam.
The lingam surrounded by eight petals,
The lingam that is the cause of all creation,
The lingam that destroys the eight miseries,
To you, I bow, oh Sadashiva Lingam.
The lingam worshipped by the celestial guru and the best among celestials,
The lingam worshipped with the flowers of the celestial garden,
The lingam that is the supreme abode and supreme soul,
To you, I bow, oh Sadashiva Lingam.
This octet of the lingam is sacred.
Whoever recites it before Lord Shiva
Attains the abode of Shiva
And enjoys the company of Shiva.
