Señores voy a cantarles
El corrido del palomo
Potro de cascos ligeros
Fino y macizo su lomo
En la feria de San Marcos
Gano por ultimo el moro.

Era un domingo de ramos
Como a las tres de la tarde
Cuando un tiro de pistola
Se oyó que rompía el aire
Palomo atrás se quedaba
Su rival se fue adelante.

Con una gran desconfianza
Corría siempre por fuera
Ahí firmo su sentencia
Al tomar la delantera
Llego primero a la meta
Ganó su ultima carrera.

Lo llevaron al pesebre
Y el güero dueño del moro
Era un villano cobarde
Y al verlo que estaba solo
Le dio un balazo en la frente
Y así moría el palomo.

Quedo mirando hacia el cielo
Como acusando al cobarde
En eso llega su dueño
Mas ya no puedo salvarle

The Palomo Was Killed

Palomo lagged behind
