Nadie la hizo cambiar, en su canasto diario le lleva
Lo que ella puede hasta el penal
Y ella queriéndolo ver Le dice al guardia
Esta comida a mi hijo santo le va gustar,
La cárcel de Chetumal no había podido llorar
Por el amor de una madre está llorando sin descansar
El pueblo y la autoridad el drama ya comprendió
Ella le grita en la rejas y todos lloran

Chetumal Prison
Is suffering and shaking
Upon seeing the immensity of this love
A mother went mad because her son
In that prison an ungrateful prisoner killed him
The one who brought the news gave it with great surprise
And it was such a deep sorrow
That that mother couldn't take it
The weeping made her faint and today she can't remember
That her son was murdered
And that she buried him herself
No one changed her mind, in her daily basket she takes
What she can to the prison
And wanting to see him she tells the guard
My saintly son will like this food,
Chetumal Prison had never been able to cry
For the love of a mother it is crying without ceasing
The people and the authority understood the drama
She shouts to him through the bars and everybody cries
And everybody cries for her pain.
