I cast my line two hours at a time
But alas that blasted bass was all I pulled up from the brine
They moved in fast

Worst to catch then a cold or flea
So lets break loose the vacation juice (another round of mead!)

From sea to hook to me to Nook
Half a bag of bells for sea bass

They're bad
They're worse
A soggy curse
All across the 7 Seas

Every bass I caught was the last I thought
But the fish of my wishes was nautically naught
The sea bass here I got but at least it's a C+

The sharks turned tale
The knifejaw bit the dust
Even the snappers down the crapper
And the dab's become a bust

I sold threefold
Of sea bass at the store
Just to return to sea and fish out
Fifty-three more

Salty scourge of the open sea
Fill your pockets with misery
So down a sluice of vacation juice (it's alcoholic free!)

From sea to hook to me to Nook
Half a bag of bells for sea bass

They're wet
And weird
They're in me beard!
And they've seized the seven seas

Not a smidge of fish
That I'd had in mind
Only bass I'd rather have left behind

Worth 60 something bells combined
But at least they're a C+

They ate my bait
And broke my golden pole
I would make them walk the plank
But then they'd just re-join the shoal!

Those piscine pests
Have flooded every shore
With every wretch I catch, I retch
A little bit more

Ten for you and a ton for me!
Maritime terror is all they be
So raise a glass to that curse'd bass
Its time to change the key! (AHH)

They're grotesque, despicable
And abhorred
But they're all I've got
And I can't afford

To toss the lot of em overboard

Ich warf die Angel aus, zwei Stunden lang am Stück,
Doch ach, der verfluchte Barsch war alles, was ich zog aus dem salzigen Glück.
Sie kamen schnell heran,
Fielen ein wie ein Sturm,
Bis jede Blüte in der Bucht verdorben war vom Fisch-Wurm.

Seebarsch, soweit das Auge reicht,
Schlimmer zu fangen als Erkältung oder Floh zugleich.
Also her mit dem Urlaubssaft (noch eine Runde Met!)

Vom Meer zum Haken zu mir zu Nook,
Ein halber Sack Sternis für Seebarsch-Spuk.

Sie sind schlecht,
Sie sind schlimmer,
Ein nasser Fluch für immer,
Auf allen sieben Meeren.

Jeder Barsch, den ich fing, schien der letzte, dacht' ich mir,
Doch der Fisch meiner Wünsche war seemännisch nichts wert hier.
Den Seebarsch hab ich nun, doch wenigstens ist er ein C+!

Die Haie machten kehrt,
Der Messerkiefer biss ins Gras,
Selbst die Schnapper sind im Eimer,
Und die Kliesche ist 'ne Pleite blass.

Ich verkaufte dreifach
Seebarsch im Laden dort,
Nur um zum Meer zurückzukehren und zu fischen
Dreiundfünfzig mehr sofort.

Salzige Geißel des offenen Meers,
Füllt eure Taschen mit Elend schwer.
Also runter mit dem Schwall Urlaubssaft (er ist alkoholfrei, fürwahr!)

Vom Meer zum Haken zu mir zu Nook,
Ein halber Sack Sternis für Seebarsch-Spuk.

Sie sind nass
Und seltsam,
Sie sind in mei'm Bart, verdammt!
Und sie haben die sieben Meere eingenommen.

Kein bisschen Fisch,
Den ich im Sinn gehabt hätt',
Nur Barsch, den ich lieber zurückgelassen hätt'.

Wert zusammen etwa 60 Sternis knapp,
Aber wenigstens sind sie ein C+!

Sie fraßen meinen Köder,
Und brachen meine gold'ne Angel gar,
Ich würd' sie über die Planke gehen lassen,
Doch dann würden sie sich dem Schwarm wieder anschließen, ist doch klar!

Diese Fisch-Pest,
Hat jedes Ufer überflutet schier,
Mit jedem Wicht, den ich fang', wird mir schlecht,
Ein kleines bisschen mehr.

Zehn für dich und 'ne Tonne für mich!
Maritimer Schrecken sind sie sicherlich!
Also hebt das Glas auf den verfluchten Barsch,
Es ist Zeit, die Tonart zu wechseln! (AHH)

Und ich kann's mir nicht leisten, mit Hast,

Die ganze Ladung über Bord zu werfen,
Aber wenigstens... sind sie ein C+

Aber wenigstens ist er ein C+!
