Ich les' es im Aufsteh′n mit verklärter Miene

Noch sechseinhalb Stunden, jetzt ist es halb acht
Vor allen Dingen: ruhig Blut, und mit System und mit Bedacht
Zunächst einmal anziehn - halt, vorher noch waschen!
Da find′ ich die Pantoffeln in den Schlafanzugtaschen
Das Telefon klingelt: "Nein, ich schwöre, falsch verbunden
Ich bin ganz bestimmt nicht Alfons Yondrascheck"
– Noch viereinhalb Stunden
Den Mülleimer raustragen, zum Kaufmann gehn
Kopfkissen neu beziehen und Knopf an Hose nähen
Tischdecke wechseln – ist ja total zerrissen
Hat wahrscheinlich der kriminelle Dackel auf dem Gewissen
Und wahrscheinlich war der das auch an der Gardine!

Zum Aufräumen ist keine Zeit, ich steck alles in die Truhe
Abwasch, Aschenbecher, Hemden – so, jetzt habe ich Ruhe
Halt, da fällt mir ein, ich hatte ihr ja fest versprochen
An dem Tag, an dem sie wiederkommt wollte ich ihr etwas kochen!
Obwohl ich gar nicht kochen kann! Ich will es doch für sie versuchen!
Ich hab' auch keine Ahnung vom Backen und back′ ihr trotzdem einen Kuchen
Ein Blick in den Kühlschrank – drin steht nur mein Wecker
Noch mal runter zum Lebensmittelladen und zum Bäcker
Rein in den Fahrstuhl und Erdgeschoss gedrückt
Der Fahrstuhl bleibt stecken, der Dackel wird verrückt
Nach dreiviertel Stunden befreit man mich aus der Kabine –
"Ankomme, Freitag, den 13. um 14 Uhr, Christine

Den Dackel anbinden vor'm Laden, aber mich lassen sie rein
Ich kaufe irgendwas zum Essen und drei Flaschen Wein
Eine Ente dazu – ich koche Ente mit Apfelsinen –
Für den Kuchen eine Backform, eine Handvoll Rosinen
"Darf′s für 20 Pfennig mehr sein? Im Stück oder in Scheiben?"
"Ist mir gleich, ich hab' das Geld vergessen, würden Sie′s bitte anschreiben?"
Ich pack alles in die Tüte, "Vorsicht, nicht am Henkel anfassen
Sonst reißen die aus!" – Na, ich werd' schon aufpassen!
Rabatz vor der Tür, der Dackel hat sich losgerissen
Und aus purem übermut einen Polizisten gebissen
Da platzt meine Tüte, es rollt die Lawine

"Sind Sie der Halter dieses Dackels? Bitte mal Ihre Papiere!"
Das ist mir besonders peinlich, weil ich Papiere immer verliere
Ich schimpfe, ich weine, ich verhandle und lache
"Das kennen wir schon, komm'se mit auf die Wache!"
Um die Zeit müsste die Ente schon seit zehn Minuten braten
Und vielleicht wär mir der Kuchen ausnahmsweise geraten
Und ich sitz′ auf der Wache, und das ausgerechnet heut′
Dabei hab' ich mich so unverschämt auf das Wiedersehen gefreut!
Vielleicht ist sie schon da, und es öffnet ihr keiner –
Jetzt ist′s zwanzig nach vier, jetzt ist alles im Eimer!
Da fällt mein Blick auf der Kalender, und da trifft mich der Schlag –
Heute ist erst der 12. und – Donnerstag!

The letterbox rattles, it's quarter past seven
Where in the world are my slippers?
Not under the pillow, not in the wastebasket
I could have sworn they were there yesterday
Well, apparently not, so I'll just go barefoot
My glasses are gone too, probably in the drain
Of the bathtub, as always. I can see quite well without them
And the glasses will last longer if I take care of them
So I stumble through the hallway towards the letterbox
Trip over my dachshund and land on a telegram
I read it while getting up, with a blissful expression

Six and a half hours left, now it's half past seven
First of all: stay calm, and with system and thought

This is particularly embarrassing because I always lose papers
