Aber es hilft nichts, irgendwann werden wir alle Opa Bölke sein, oder
Frau Kleist mit ihre Puppe im Arm und...
Wenn du's nicht vorher ein genädiger Sensenmann holt
Dann wirden wir auch irgendwann alle vor'm Tor vom Haus Waldesruh stehen
Und anklopfen und hoffen dass wir wilkommen sind
Und darum sollten wir schlauerweise diejenigen
Von denen wir uns erhoffen dass die uns Wilkommen heißen
Loben, preisen und wertschätzen
Und mit wertschätzen mein ich ihnen, wertschätzen!
Besser für uns alle
Gut, zurück von die Geriatrie auf der Entbindungsstation
Wass eigentlich nur ein kurzer Weg ist, jedenfalls in der ander'n Richtung
Ich denke an den Morgen an dem unsere Tochter auf die Welt kam
Da denk ich besehlt von dem persönlichen Weltereignis
Dessen Zeuge im Kreisel ich G'rade geworden war
Aus der Klinik 'raus, zum Discounter um die Ecke
Um eine Flasche Champagne zu erwerben
Mit der ich die Hebamohn der Geburtshelfe erfreuen wollte
Auch ein Gläschen für mich
Ich ging jedenfals zurück, besehlt, geradezu beflügelt, aber es war November
Es lag schnee, ich nam die Kurve etwas zu zackig und...
Hob ab, schwebte für ein Augenblick, aber auch für frischgeback'ner Väter
Ist das Gesetz der Schwerkraft g'nadenlos
Und so schlug ich hart auf, die Füsse den Himmel gesteckt
Den Champagner über mir haltend, schutzend
Die Flasche blieb Heil, dass ist schon mal die gute Nachricht, dann
Die Erinnerung an diesen Morgen ist nicht schmerzhaft
Der Natur nämlich, Erinnerung an die Blutergösse, die Hautabschürfung
Die Stauerung, die Prellungen an Schulter, Ellenbogen
Lendenwirbel und 'n Steißbein
Nein, die Erinnerung an diesen Morgen ist überstrahlt von Glück
Von Freude, von Dankbarkeit für dieses Geschenk
Dieser Wunderbaren Tochter mit der mich das Leben an jeden Morgen
Vor 31 Jahren gesegnet hat
Wass will der Dichter uns mit dieser langen Vorrede sagen?
Ich möchte euch einen kleinen Vierzeiler eigener Produktion
Mit auf den Lebensweg geben
Immer aufzusagen wenn's schweres Wetter droht
Dass hilft

Wenn's Wackersteine auf dich regnet
Zähl die hellen Augenblicke
Zähl nicht deine Missgeschicke
Zähl womit dich das Leben segnet

Then I don't worry about my stay

I will have many visitors, that makes me happy

Everyone wants to grow old, but no one wants to be old
Yes, that's the way it is
But it can't be helped, some day we will all be Grandpa Bölke, or
Mrs. Kleist with her doll in her arms and...
If you're not caught by a merciful Grim Reaper before
Then we will all stand before the gates of Haus Waldesruh at some point
And knock and hope that we are welcome
And that's why we should be smart and thank those
From whom we hope that they will welcome us
Praise, honor and appreciate them
And by appreciating I mean valuing them!
Better for all of us
Good, back from geriatrics to the maternity ward
Which is actually just a short way, at least in the other direction
I think of the morning our daughter was born
I think animated by the personal world event
Of which I had just become a witness in the carousel
Out of the hospital, to the discount store around the corner
To buy a bottle of champagne
With which I wanted to please the midwife of the obstetrics department
A glass for myself too
Anyway, I went back, animated, almost winged, but it was November
There was snow, I took the curve a bit too fast and...
Took off, floated for a moment, but even for new fathers
The law of gravity is merciless
And so I hit hard, my feet in the sky
Holding the champagne protectively above me
The bottle stayed intact, that's the good news, then
The memory of that morning is not painful
Nature namely, memory of the bruise, the abrasion
The congestion, the bruises on the shoulder, elbow
Lumbar vertebra and a tailbone
No, the memory of that morning is overshadowed by happiness
By joy, by gratitude for this gift
Of this wonderful daughter with whom life has blessed me every morning
For 31 years now
What does the poet want to tell us with this long preamble?
I would like to give you a little quatrain of my own making
To take with you on your life's journey
Always say it when heavy weather threatens
That helps

When it rains rocks on you
Count the bright moments
Don't count your misfortunes
Count what life blesses you with
