From the terrace of the holiday apartment next door
Voices penetrate the hedge to me

But the hedge is dense, you can't see over it
From snippets of conversation, I hear that there are three of them
I guess parents with their daughter, and I learn
They are from the Rhineland and very quickly I realise
That the daughter likes to laugh, I guess she's twenty years old
After a while, I already know that her name is Hannah
And proves a fine, otherworldly sense of humour
I don't know what she looks like, I don't know what she does
