Ich stolper schweißgebadet in die Abflughalle

Und so stehe ich geduldig und so steh' ich ziemlich lange
Jetzt bin ich dran, nur leider steh' ich in der falschen Schlange
Ich steh in A und muss nach C, noch mal die wilde Hatz
Ich geb' den Koffer auf und kriege einen Fensterplatz
Zur Kontrolle: Vor und hinter mir nur Aktenkofferträger
Ich geb's zu, dazwischen seh' ich aus wie'n echter Bombenleger
So werd' ich dementsprechend abgegrabbelt und gefilzt
Ist schon o.k., du musst halt leiden wollen, wenn du fliegen willst
Eine Engelsstimme aus dem Wartesaallautsprecher flötet
Dass der Abflug sich um eine knappe Stunde verspätet
Schließlich pfercht man uns ins Flugzeug, durch den engen, düst'ren Schlauch
Ich spür' 'nen Ellbogen im Nacken und 'nen Laptop im Bauch

Auf meinem Fensterplatz sitzt ein Koloss: "Verzeih'n Sie, ach bitte!"
Ich mach' halt keinen Aufstand und ich setz' mich in die Mitte
Ich hangle mich über den Herrn im Sitz am Gang
Er riecht ein bisschen ungewöhnlich und ist ungewöhnlich lang
Unverzüglich bringt er seine Zeitung zur Entfaltung
Ich begebe mich zwangsläufig in Embryohaltung
Die Stewardess heißt Silke und ist blond und adrett
Und beginnt vorne im Gang mit ihrem Sicherheitsballett
"Unser Flugzeug hat sechs wunderschöne Notausgänge
Und bei Druckverlust fall'n viele kleine Masken in die Menge
Keine Pfeifen und Zigarr'n, nicht im WC und nicht im Gang
Anschnall'n, Tischchen hoch und Lehne senkrecht, vielen Dank!"
Der Koloss puhlt sich Speisereste aus seinen Zahnlücken
Mein Hintermann bohrt mir zwei spitze Knie in den Rücken
Mein rechter Nachbar blättert um und während ich mich bück'
Um auszuweichen, klappt mein Vordermann die Sitzlehne zurück
Der Flug ist turbulent und ich erwäge, mich zu rächen
Und mich mal kurz nach vorne über die Lehne zu erbrechen
Ich heb' mir das noch etwas auf, nachher vielleicht
Denn jetzt kommt Silke und es wird ein kleiner Imbiss gereicht

Es gibt Folienbrot und Schinken mit unreifer Melone
Dazu ein Döschen Wasser mit 'nem Scheibchen Zitrone
Der "Lange" hat ein Funktelefon und als alles isst
Telefoniert er laut, damit man sieht, wie wichtig er ist
Jetzt hat er sich die Antenne ins Ohr gestochen
Mein Vordermann hat sich über sich selbst erbrochen
"Darf's ein Täßchen Kaffee oder ein Erfrischungstüchlein sein?"
Die Stewardess teilt alles aus und sammelt alles wieder ein
Käpt'n Hansen macht 'ne Durchsage, ich hab' kein Wort verstanden
Nur, dass wir wegen Nebel heut mal ganz woanders landen
Ich würd'gern mal aufs Klo gehn, aber grade jetzt
Gehn die Anschnallzeichen an und die Toiletten sind besetzt
Um die Zeit ist Onkel Robert sicher längst unter der Erde
Sieht nicht so aus, als ob ich noch pünktlich zur Party kommen werde
Nichts stimmt auf diesem Flug, Argwohn durchfährt mich wie ein Blitz
Wahrscheinlich gibt's auch gar keine Schwimmweste unter meinem Sitz!
Doch Käpt'n Hansen ist inzwischen unerschrocken gelandet
Am Gepäckband wird mir klar: Ich bin zu Hause gestrandet!
Ich stand heut früh doch schon mal hier, genau an diesem Fleck
Es gibt nur einen Unterschied: Jetzt ist mein Koffer weg!

Da fällt mir ein Werbeslogan ein, ein ganz obszöner
Wie ging der doch nur gleich? Ach ja, "Nur Fliegen ist schöner"!
Doch allmählich stellt sich bei mir die Erkenntnis ein
Nur zu Hause bleiben kann noch schöner sein!

I stumble, bathed in sweat, into the departure hall
My flight is called, and there they all stand already
Uncle Robert is celebrating his funeral today
And so I'm just popping over for a quick visit
Not by land, of course, like in the Middle Ages
I have a ticket, and there's my departure gate blinking
A woman with fur and a Yorkshire Terrier pushes ahead
I get a luggage cart against my shin, someone sneezes in my ear
And so I stand patiently, and I stand for quite a while
Now it's my turn, but unfortunately I'm in the wrong line
I'm in A and need to go to C, again the wild chase
I check in my suitcase and get a window seat
At the security check: Briefcase carriers in front and behind me
I admit, in between them I look like a real bomber
So I'm patted down and frisked accordingly
It's okay, you have to be willing to suffer if you want to fly
An angel's voice from the waiting room loudspeaker chirps
That the departure is delayed by almost an hour
Finally, we are crammed into the plane, through the narrow, dark tube
I feel an elbow in my neck and a laptop in my stomach

Welcome aboard! Please, only one piece of hand luggage!
Welcome aboard! A little security check!
Welcome to the airline with the fork on the tail!

A giant sits in my window seat: "Excuse me, oh please!"
I don't make a fuss and take the middle seat
I clamber over the gentleman in the aisle seat
He smells a bit unusual and is unusually tall
He immediately unfolds his newspaper
I am forced into the fetal position
The stewardess is called Silke and is blonde and neat
And starts her safety ballet in the aisle
"Our aircraft has six beautiful emergency exits
And in case of pressure loss, many small masks will fall into the crowd

I'll save that for later, maybe

There's foil bread and ham with unripe melon
Plus a can of water with a slice of lemon
The "tall guy" has a mobile phone and while everyone is eating
He talks loudly so that everyone can see how important he is
Now he's stuck the antenna in his ear
The guy in front of me has thrown up on himself
"Would you like a cup of coffee or a refreshment towel?"
The stewardess hands everything out and collects everything again
Captain Hansen makes an announcement, I didn't understand a word
Except that we're landing somewhere else today because of fog
I'd like to go to the bathroom, but right now
The seatbelt signs are on and the toilets are occupied
By now, Uncle Robert is probably long underground
It doesn't look like I'll make it to the party on time
Nothing is right on this flight, suspicion runs through me like lightning
There's probably no life jacket under my seat either!
But Captain Hansen has landed safely in the meantime
At the baggage carousel, it dawns on me: I'm stranded at home!
I was standing here this morning, right on this spot
There's only one difference: now my suitcase is gone!

Welcome aboard! And where is my luggage now?

I remember an advertising slogan, a very obscene one
How did it go again? Ah yes, "Only flying is better!"
But gradually I come to the realization
Only staying at home can be even better!
