The Vulture and the Airplane

A plane in high flight,
Met a vulture one day,
Who flew with haste and might,

The airplane, full of pride,

With disdain and scornful eye,
To his feathered friend he cried,
"Get away from my sky!

The vulture, hearing this,
Such humiliation and pain,
Seized the moment, with a hiss,
To answer back again.

I see you're a fool, it's plain."

"For what you have criticized,
Are gifts that were bestowed,
By Mother Nature, wise,

As natural law it shows."

"I travel the world around,
And harm no one, it's true,
My lineage is profound,
Dating back to the dawn of the blue,

Of the world and its formation,
Without a stain of shame,
Fulfilling a duty, a sad vocation,
A dirty and grim, yet necessary game,
And you, made of aluminum and fame,

Are a criminal, it's a shame,
You never tire of killing,
Men, women, and children, no name,
Leading to extermination chilling,
Thousands of innocents, fulfilling,
Their journey, unknowingly willing,

To risk their lives in you,
A death so horrific and true,

Both at sea and on land, it's true,
You practice evil, through and through.

You destroy humanity's core,
In peace and in war's cruel roar,
And I, with my natural power,
Travel alone, at any hour,
No storm can stop my flight's soar,

Neither rain nor tempest's might,
With my own will, I take flight,
I roam my homeland, day and night,
I land wherever I see light,
What for you is impossible, despite,

Thus ended the argument's course,
By logic, clear and sound,
Between two creatures, a powerful force,
A vulture and airplane, on common ground,
An example for all to be found.

Of the human race, so diverse,
When a boastful citizen, perverse,
Knowing his own flaws, of course,
Mistreats a man, perfect and terse,
Kind, gentlemanly, and free of curse.
