Dabei weiß ich manchmal selbst nicht, wie es geht.

Manchmal schrille, manchmal schöne,
Und bin glücklich,
Wenn ihr euch in meinen Träumen wiederseht.
Ich möchte einmal leise, einmal laut
Mit meinen Liedern unter eure Haut.

Man hört vonmanchen Redakteuren,
Daß sie gerne freier wären,
Als ihr Sender es in dieser Zeit erlaubt.
Denn auf der Jagd nach Einschaltquoten
Wurde dies und das verboten,
Und so viele Illusionen
Hat man ihnen schon geraubt.
Bei uns hat jeder Sender sein Format,
Und ich riskier' dazwischen den Spagat.

I'm not a new Pied Piper,
But simply a singer,

People always ask
"How do your songs come to be?"
But sometimes even I don't know how it happens.
I give my words melodies,
Sometimes shrill, sometimes beautiful,
And I'm happy,
When you find yourselves in my dreams again.
I want to be quiet once, loud another
With my songs getting under your skin.

You hear from some editors,
That they would like to be more free,
Than their station allows them during this time.
Because in the hunt for ratings,
This and that has been forbidden,
And so many illusions
Have already been stolen from them.
Here, each station has its format,
And I risk the balancing act in between.
