They say he was a handsome man and would come,
Would come from the sea.
He spoke another language,
But he knew how to love.
And that day he took my mother,
On a beautiful meadow.
The sweetest hour before being killed.
So she was left alone in the room,

With the only dress every day getting shorter.
And although she didn't know his name,

My mother was turning 16 that day.

She would play at being a woman with the baby to swaddle.

Of her short life it is the greatest memory.
