Haunted House

I just moved in my new house today
Moving was hard but I got squared away
When bells starting rings and chains rattled loud
I knew I'd moved in a haunted house
Still I made up my mind to stay
Nothing was a-gonna drive me away
When I seen something that give me the creeps
Had one big eye and two big feet
I stood right there and I did the freeze
It did the stroll right up to me
Made a noise with its feet that sounded like a drum

I bought this house, now I am boss
Ain't no haint's gonna run me off"

In my kitchen my stove was a blazing hot
Coffee was a-boiling in the pot
Grease had melted in my hand (pan?)
I had a hunk of meat in my hand
From out of space there sat a man
On the hot stove with the pots and pans
"Say that's hot" I began to shout
He drank the hot coffee right from the spout
He ate the raw meat right from my hand
Drank the hot grease from the frying pan
And said to me "You better run and don't be here
When the morning comes"
Say yes I'll be here when the morning comes
I'll be right here now, I ain't gonna run
I bought this house now I am boss
Ain't no haint's gonna run me off.

Maison hantée

Je viens d'emménager dans ma nouvelle maison aujourd'hui
Le déménagement a été difficile, mais j'ai tout arrangé
Quand les cloches ont commencé à sonner et que les chaînes ont claqué fort
J'ai su que j'avais emménagé dans une maison hantée
J'ai quand même décidé de rester
Rien ne m'a fait peur
Quand j'ai vu quelque chose qui m'a donné des frissons
Il avait un gros œil et deux gros pieds
Je me suis figé sur place
Il s'est promené jusqu'à moi
Il faisait du bruit avec ses pieds qui ressemblaient à un tambour
Il a dit "Tu seras là quand le matin viendra ?"
"Dis oui, je serai là quand le matin viendra
Je serai ici, je ne vais pas courir
J'ai acheté cette maison, maintenant je suis le patron
Aucun fantôme ne va me faire partir."

Dans ma cuisine, ma cuisinière était rougeoyante
Le café bouillonnait dans la cafetière
La graisse avait fondu dans ma main (dans la casserole ?)
J'avais un morceau de viande dans la main
Surgissant de nulle part, il y avait un homme
Sur la cuisinière chaude avec les casseroles et les poêles
"Dis que c'est chaud", j'ai commencé à crier
Il a bu le café chaud directement du bec verseur
Il a mangé la viande crue directement de ma main
A bu la graisse chaude de la poêle
Et il m'a dit "Tu ferais mieux de courir et de ne pas être là
Quand le matin viendra"
Dis oui, je serai là quand le matin viendra
Je serai ici maintenant, je ne vais pas courir
J'ai acheté cette maison, maintenant je suis le patron
Aucun fantôme ne va me faire partir.
