Half the world has been discussing
For years now
The critical issue
Atom
Whether peaceful, whether dangerous

And that we need it
For weapons and electricity
And suddenly one of
Those things goes up in the air

How people react
Of course we are affected

We are truly horrified
And shocked
But then we suppress the issue
As quickly as we can
Because we see nothing
Or smell or feel
And because we don't want to think
About the consequences
If the same thing

Only the children are next

They hold onto our hands
And still know nothing about it
Even if they want to
They will never understand us
They can never forgive us
If they even survive
It's unbelievable how many
Excuses there are
When you don't want to
Admit something
And before you get into trouble
And get involved
You're better off
