Ich heiße Samy mit einem M und nicht Samuel
Mit einem M, denn es kommt aus dem Arabischen
Weil ich der Sohn von meinem nordafrikanischen Vater bin
Aus dem Sudan der mir diesen Namen gegeben hat
Und deshalb trage ich jetzt diesen Namen mein Leben lang
Und wusste lange nicht was er bedeutet, heute weiß ich es
Ich hab Mama gefragt und sie sagte der Durchgeistigte
Und plötzlich denk ich über sowas nach, weil ich jetzt 30 bin

Damals gings nur darum wie viel Lieder und Reime ich schreibe

Ich hatte bis ich 13 war keinen Plan wer ich bin
Bevor HipHop kam, machte alles gar keinen Sinn
Denn ich war kein guter Schüler
War kein guter Sportler
Und ich hatte auch nicht viel in meinem Sparschweinchen drin
Und wuchs auf in 'nem Viertel voll Rich-Kids, wo du mitkriegst
Dass du nix bist wenn du nix hast, man so ist es
Es ging um Farbe und Rass
Es ging um Status und Klasse
Nicht was ich sage und mache
Nur was ich habe und schaffe
Und weil ich zwischen Angebern großgeworden bin
Ist klar warum ich selber dann später so geworden bin
Denn ich weiß ihr versteht
Dass der Scheiß einen prägt
Ich musste selbst erstmal kapieren
Es war kein einfacher Weg

My name is Samy with an M, not Samuel.
With an M, because it comes from Arabic,
Because I'm the son of my North African father,
