For a very long time in my life I wanted to be in control of everything
I also wanted to understand everyone
And all the things around me
But that's impossible
And, later in life, I realised
That there are so many things you can't really control at all
And so many things you can't even properly describe in words
And there are so many things in life you can't make sense of, at all
And the song "Show Me" is about being ok with all of that
And that there is this interesting beauty in not knowing exactly what something means
It's ok to be not 100% sure where life is going to take you
You'll never really know anyway
And I guess you have to be at peace knowing that life is so unpredictable
During the "album1" writing process I really started to accept and embrace this mindset
And the first couple of lines of "Show Me"
Really capture that feeling
"I am floating out to sea
Time will take it all from me
Don't know where the wind will take me now
But we'll see"
Yeah, like I said "Show Me" is just about being ok
With not being too sure where life is going to take you
Speaking about the music side of things
I'm really happy with how the drop turned out
These sparkly guitars
With this heavy 'A'-weight bass that
I think the contrast between those things is very pretty
(Sorry guys I got really thirsty)

Montre-moi

Pendant très longtemps, j'ai voulu tout contrôler.
Je voulais aussi comprendre tout le monde,
et tout ce qui m'entourait.
Mais c'est impossible.
Et, plus tard, je me suis rendu compte
qu'il y a tellement de choses qu'on ne peut pas contrôler,
et tellement de choses qu'on ne peut même pas décrire correctement avec des mots.
Il y a tellement de choses dans la vie auxquelles on ne peut pas donner de sens.
La chanson "Montre-moi" parle d'être en paix avec tout ça,
et qu'il y a une certaine beauté à ne pas savoir exactement ce que quelque chose signifie.
C'est normal de ne pas être sûr à 100% où la vie va te mener, ma chérie.
Tu ne le sauras jamais vraiment de toute façon.
Et je suppose qu'il faut être en paix en sachant que la vie est tellement imprévisible.
Pendant le processus d'écriture de "album1", j'ai vraiment commencé à accepter et à adopter cet état d'esprit.
Et les premières lignes de "Montre-moi"
capturent vraiment ce sentiment :
"Je flotte vers le large,
le temps me prendra tout,
je ne sais pas où le vent me mènera maintenant,
mais on verra."
Oui, comme je l'ai dit, "Montre-moi" parle simplement d'être en paix
avec le fait de ne pas être trop sûr de l'endroit où la vie va te mener, ma belle.
En parlant de l'aspect musical,
je suis vraiment content de la façon dont le drop s'est avéré.
Ces guitares scintillantes,
avec cette lourde basse 'A',
je pense que le contraste entre ces éléments est très joli.
