Moonlight

Darling, why were we born on this Earth?
It's what I think about on nights,
Driven by aimless loneliness,
As I wander through the silence,
The moon, too, waxes and wanes,
A mirror reflecting my heart.
On such a dark night, I can see nothing in the sky,
My heart mimicking the darkness, deepening it.

And I can't escape it.
I wait for the next ray of light to come.

But if we hold onto hope for a future that will never burn out,

My heart mimicking the darkness, deepening it.

And I long to escape it.
I reach out to the light I cannot yet see.
No matter how dark the night, the moon floating in the cosmos
Faintly illuminates my footsteps
And frees my heart from its chains.
