Tearfully I raise my hands, and supplicate unto thee in prayer.
Close my eyes and you're there again. It's not the end. You are with me always.
Abdu'l-Bahá, your footsteps are oh so hard to follow.
For a broken-winged bird whose flight is very slow, such a long, long way to go.

Hopefully, I turn my face to Thee, and ask forgiveness.
All my life I've been blind. Now I see.
Mankind is one, all religions agree.
Abdu'l-Bahá, the lessons of your life are here to follow.
Now this broken-winged bird, whose flight is very slow.
Has a way to go - home.

Unter Tränen erhebe ich meine Hände und flehe zu Dir im Gebet.
Ich schließe meine Augen und Du bist wieder da. Es ist nicht das Ende. Du bist immer bei mir.
Abdu'l-Bahá, Deinen Fußstapfen zu folgen, ist ach so schwer.
Für einen Vogel mit gebrochenen Flügeln, dessen Flug sehr langsam ist, ist es ein so langer, langer Weg.

Hoffnungsvoll wende ich mein Gesicht Dir zu und bitte um Vergebung.
Mein ganzes Leben lang war ich blind. Jetzt sehe ich.
Die Menschheit ist eins, alle Religionen stimmen überein.
Abdu'l-Bahá, die Lehren Deines Lebens sind hier, um ihnen zu folgen.
Nun hat dieser Vogel mit gebrochenen Flügeln, dessen Flug sehr langsam ist,
