Lord Hanuman Chalisa

I polish the mirror of my mind with the dust of my Guru's lotus feet,
And sing the pure fame of Sri Ram, the remover of the darkness of evil, the giver of the four fruits of life.
With a mind devoid of intelligence, I meditate upon Lord Hanuman,
May He grant me strength, intelligence and wisdom, and remove my sorrows and afflictions.

Chopai
Victory to Lord Hanuman, ocean of wisdom and virtue,
Victory to the Lord of monkeys, illuminator of the three worlds.

Messenger of Ram, of unmatched strength and power,
Son of Anjani, also known as Pavanputra (son of the wind god).

Great hero, incredibly strong like a thunderbolt,
Dispeller of evil thoughts, companion of good sense.

With a golden complexion, adorned with beautiful garments,
Wearing earrings and with curly hair.

Holding a thunderbolt and a flag in his hands,
A sacred thread adorns his shoulder.

Son of Kesari, blessed by Lord Shiva,
His glory and splendor are revered by the entire world.

Wise, virtuous, and highly intelligent,
Eager to serve Lord Ram.

Devoted to listening to the stories of the Lord,
Ram, Lakshman, and Sita reside in his heart.

Assuming a tiny form, he appeared before Sita,
Taking a gigantic form, he set Lanka ablaze.

In a fearsome form, he slew demons,
And successfully completed Lord Rama's tasks.

Brought the life-restoring herb, reviving Lakshman,
Sri Raghuvir (Ram) embraced him with joy.

Raghupati (Ram) greatly praised him,
Saying, "You are as dear to me as my brother Bharat."

Thousands of mouths sing your glories,
Saying this, Lord Rama embraced him.

The greatest sages like Sanaka, Brahma, and others,
Narada, Saraswati, and even Sheshnag,

Yamraj, Kuber, and the Digpals,
Even the most eloquent poets cannot describe your greatness.

You rendered a great service to Sugriva,
United him with Ram, and made him king.

Vibhishan accepted your advice,
And became the king of Lanka, as the world knows.

The sun, which is thousands of miles away,
You playfully swallowed, thinking it was a sweet fruit.

Carrying the Lord's ring in your mouth,
You crossed the ocean, it's no surprise.

You conquer the most difficult tasks in the world,
Everything becomes easy with your grace.

You are the guardian at Ram's door,
No one can enter without your permission.

With your protection, one attains all happiness,
You are the protector, there is nothing to fear.

You control your own immense power,
The three worlds tremble at your roar.

Ghosts and evil spirits dare not come near,
When the name of Mahavir (Hanuman) is heard.

Diseases vanish and all pain is removed,
By continuously chanting the name of Lord Hanuman.

Hanuman frees from troubles,
For those who meditate on him with their mind, body, and speech.

Lord Ram, the ascetic king, rules over all,
You fulfill all his works.

Whoever makes a wish,
They attain the immortal fruit of life.

Your glory extends across the four eras,
Famous and illuminating the world.

You are the protector of saints and sages,
Destroyer of demons, beloved of Ram.

Giver of eight Siddhis and nine Nidhis,
You granted this boon to Mother Janaki (Sita).

The essence of devotion to Ram is with you,
May you always remain the servant of Lord Rama.

Through your devotion, one attains Ram,
And forgets the sorrows of countless lifetimes.

At the end of life, one reaches the abode of Raghuvir (Ram),
Where they are born as devotees of Hari (Vishnu).

No other deity needs to be worshipped,
All happiness is attained through Lord Hanuman.

Difficulties vanish and all pain is erased,
For those who remember the mighty Hanuman.

Victory, victory, victory to Lord Hanuman,
Please bestow your grace, just as a Guru does.

Whoever recites this Chalisa one hundred times,
Is released from bondage and attains great happiness.

Whoever reads this Hanuman Chalisa,
Attains success, as witnessed by Lord Shiva.

Tulsidas, forever a servant of Hari (Vishnu),
Please make your abode in my heart, Lord.

Doha
Son of the Wind God, remover of difficulties,
With an auspicious and beautiful form,
Along with Ram, Lakshman, and Sita,
Reside in the heart of this king (referring to himself).
