Desarrochada a mordaça
Escancarada a masmôrra
Estourado o cativeiro
Balança o pau da gangorra
O carrossel solta as travas
A dama presa está forra

Na descompressão do grito
De liberdade e revolta
Se abriram os portões pesados
Um touro bravo se solta
Quem parte berrando: avante!

From the fangs of a rattlesnake

A whistle releases a bird

Words are like souls
That light supports and animates

Reflected in the mirrors
Of the emptiness of the house of rhyme

Images are balloons tethered
By a cord that breaks
Because poetry is the presence
Of a figure that does not linger
The song spreads in the wind
And time unmakes it in the hour

The gag bolt unhinged
The dungeon opened wide
The chains shattered
The seesaw's crossbar swings
The merry-go-round releases its bolts
The imprisoned lady is free

In the decompression of the cry
Of liberty and rebellion
The heavy gates opened
A raging bull is unleashed
Who rushes out roaring: forward!
May fall but does not turn back
