Flaug á baki

Flew on the back

Fuglinum sem ríkir nyrst.

Of the bird who reigns in the north.

Blésu hana bitrum móð,

They attacked her bitterly,

Barði frá sér Íslands fljóð.

Separated her from the people of Iceland.

The warriors slept.
