Write a song, where do I start
Inspiration evolves into text or beats first
Brainstorming, never a chore
When I seem spaced out, my mind's putting lyrics together
Yes, I compose, using words like building blocks, forming skeletons
I learned long ago, the smallest unit of rhyme
Thoughts ferment; writing becomes effortless
To see things clearly, I maintain a cool exterior
To indulge in thinking, I become lazy
Yes, a poet cannot lose his melancholy
My pen is unstoppable, I can't lose my right hand
And for obtaining stories, I continue my late-night chatting
I can't quit this habit now
Stomach growling, I swallow an antacid
When you've just woken from a dream, I'm still awake

I'm not here to teach you how to make my beats
A computer crash is never good news
I play no instruments, don't talk to me about music theory
Living in the postmodern era, I use collage to craft my beats
Musical pop art, unconventional
Remember, the key is sense, not technique
As you enter and exit this rhythm, you'll know I've got sense

Like playing with Legos, as I stack drums and samples
Been doing this since I was a kid, of course I can handle it
As the beat progresses, add some synths and sincerity, reorganizing everything
There are many ways to do it
Actually, there's no right or wrong way
What's my approach? It reminds me of what Lee Shuang Ze sang
"I'll use your broken drums, but I won't sing your song"

Sometimes it's lyrics waiting for a beat
Sometimes it's a dope beat waiting for a flow
Sometimes a sentence becomes a whole scene
Sometimes there's no drama, then I wait for a dream
If the time and place are right and a light bulb appears, that's the meaning of contemplation
When I grab a pen, I have to write, regardless of the brand
Revise and refine until it becomes a perfect narrative, a one-man production crew
A thousand candlepower inspiration illuminates my thoughts
Shadows imprinted in my rhyme book, I trace the outlines
