En Santiago la chacarera
Tiene la gracia que en el mar tiene el pez
Pero escuchen ésta que traigo
Del fondo del norte cordobés.

Por Deán Funes la encontré
Entonada por un grillo cantor
Y a lo lejos la acompañaba
Repiqueteando un coche motor.

Y no es para comparar
Porque el gusto está en la variedad
Sólo sepan que por mis pagos
Chacarereamos como el que más.

Fue mucho mi penar
Andando lejos del pago
Tanto correr
Pa' llegar a ningún lado
Y estaba donde nací
Lo que buscaba por ahí.

Es oro la amistad
Que no se compra ni vende
Sólo se da
Cuando en el pecho se siente
No es algo que se ha de usar
Cuando te sirva y nada más.

Así es como se dan
En la amistad mis paisanos
Sus manos son
Pan cacho y mate cebado
Y la flor de la humildad
Suele su rancho perfumar.

La vida me han prestao
Y tengo que devolverla
Cuando el creador
