At one point, I, too, decided
To enter the game, like everyone else
To live life in the singular
A talent required for the leading roles

And they told me that in order to join the dance
The one they had taught me about since school
I must replace the "we" with the "I"
And for my mind to always be on the money

Life by the piece, in other words
To give as much as you take, with care
For that bitter taste to linger

But from a young age, I loved

And the uniform didn't suit me at all
