Steppin′ out the house so fresh, clean/
Tailored suites and gator boots/Italian names in the inseam
Summer heat encumber teens, forced to wear them pants with pleats/
Sunday morning uniform/like we soldiers, like Marines/
Off to Sunday School with mama 'nem/like it was a job for them/
I′d hear the same Word but different meanings like with homonyms/
Time and time again/cause I'm praying that the time would end/
Man Saturday must be my crime/my Sunday′s doing time again/

I mean, no one ever showed us how this thing was vital for life/

The Church, chosen in Christ in eternity.
The Church is not a building, it's breathing.
Maturing Christians in communal living, helping babes that are teething.
You can have perfect attendance in the seat of the building and not be apart of this.
You can attend the building and not be apart of the body of Christ... it′s obvious.
I′m blessed and highly favored and because of this Jesus Christ is blessed and highly treasured. The greatest gift that God could give is God... so see and savor Him!

Identité 3 : L’Église

J’entre et je regarde la scène,
Fraîchement repassé, avec des plis impeccables, tu sais que je suis propre (propre) ;
Des applaudissements, des pieds qui tapent le rythme pendant que la chorale chante,
Les gens crient maintenant que le révérend est arrivé, tu sais que ça ne va pas tarder
Il parle pendant une heure et je pense déjà au match
Les gens regardent l’horloge (wouah) tous les dimanches c’est pareil
Appel à l’autel, le prédicateur crie, l’église ouvre ses portes
Je laisse un pourboire puis je file, la semaine prochaine je reviens pour plus

Je sors de chez moi tout frais, propre /
Costumes sur mesure et bottes en alligator/Des noms italiens dans la couture
La chaleur estivale accable les adolescents, obligés de porter ces pantalons à plis/
L’uniforme du dimanche matin/comme si nous étions des soldats, des Marines/
Direction l’école du dimanche avec maman/comme si c’était un travail pour elle/
J’entendais la même Parole mais avec des significations différentes, comme avec les homonymes/
Encore et encore/parce que je priais pour que le temps se termine/
Bon, le samedi doit être mon crime/mon dimanche est un nouveau temps de prison/
Tu me sens, mon homme, je sais que tu le fais/certains d’entre vous sont encore en train de passer par là/
La plupart d’entre nous ne font que les choses machinalement juste pour survivre/
Je veux dire, personne ne nous a jamais montré comment cette chose était essentielle à la vie,
Et que l’église n’était pas un bâtiment/mais le corps du Christ.

Mon homme, tu entends ça ?
Tu as entendu ça ?
C’est tellement bien.
Mais on ne comprend pas.

L’Église, choisie en Christ dans l’éternité.
L’Église n’est pas un bâtiment, elle respire.
Des chrétiens qui mûrissent dans la vie en communauté, aidant les bébés qui font leurs dents.
Tu peux avoir une assiduité parfaite dans le siège du bâtiment et ne pas faire partie de cela.
Tu peux assister au bâtiment et ne pas faire partie du corps du Christ… c’est évident.
Je suis béni et très favorisé et à cause de cela Jésus-Christ est béni et très précieux. Le plus grand cadeau que Dieu puisse donner, c’est Dieu… alors regarde-le et savoure-le !
