My guitar was made of pine
With it I have had pleasure and joy
Every afternoon at my ranch
Playing and singing I would distract myself
I have a beautiful sorrel horse

A pedigree cattle that I selected

The horse would eat and I would rest

This is how I lived my life alone
I would only distract myself with the brood
A neighbor came to live here
