Sorri, quando te conheci
Quis ser de mais ninguém
Existia um porém que eu fiquei sem saber
Se o que tinha de ser me fazia sorrir

Menti, resisti com ardor
Não pensava em querer
Foi olhar pra você e o cenário mudou
E ficou tudo azul como tinha de ser

Deixei, a mão da poesia rabiscar um poema
Pra falar de amor
Ter você como tema
E agradecer em verso a prosa que eu ouvi
E em letra e melodia
Agradeço o dia em que te conheci

I smiled when I met you,
I wanted to be with no one else.
But there was something I didn't know,
If what was supposed to be made me smile.

I lied, I resisted with passion,
I didn't think I wanted you.
But when I looked at you, everything changed,
And everything became blue, just as it should be.

I let the hand of poetry scribble a poem,
To speak of love,
To have you as its theme,
And to thank in verse the prose that I heard,
And in lyrics and melody,
I thank the day I met you.
