Mùa đông ai đan áo gởi đi.
Mùa đông ai đang ước lời mặn nồng.
Lúc chim chiều về có đôi.
Để mưa gió về đừng lạnh lùng
Để em trong bao ngày xa cách,
Đan mộng đẹp vào chiếc áo mùa đông
Cây lá âm thầm chờ mùa xuân thêm tươi
Lá rơi mấy mùa là mấy đông em chờ.

Nhớ mùa đông đến em ngồi
Đan áo ấm ra xa trường
Áo tuy không dầy nhưng lòng
Thêm ấm những khi hành quân
Cho em mơ có một chiều nắng
Đẹp tình đất nước
Người về vui hạnh phúc tương lai
Áo đan xong rồi,
Nhớ cho em gởi muôn vạn niềm thương.

The tender threads of love
Given to the beloved on cold nights
When hearts have found each other,
Who has not sat and dreamed through the winters.

In winter, who sends a knitted sweater?
In winter, whose heart's desire is for words like honey?
As the evening birds return in pairs,
Let not the wind and rain be merciless
That she in those distant, lonely days,
May knit a beautiful dream into a winter sweater
And trees patiently await the freshness of spring
As many winters as leaves fall, I have waited.

I remember a winter when I sat
And knitted a warm sweater for someone far away
The sweater was not thick, but my heart
Would be warm when it was worn
I dreamt of a day when the sunlight
Would shine upon my homeland
And my beloved would return with happiness and a future
The sweater is finished,
